This week we were tasked with creating a simple static mesh on its level and adding it to the main multiplayer project level. I made a level, static mesh, and added a material instance used in the level. Then added that map to the persistent level and could turn it off and on at any given point.
Additionally, we worked on stories for our final project. We played a simple game in glass where each of us had to generate a word based on someone's previous answer. My group created three stories, and they are as follows.
Story 1:
A coconut washed ashore on the beach of Miami. An agent came across the coconut and noticed a message inside it. The message read beware of a tsunami that will take place in 3 days, destroying the US. Our agent then notifies the public the end of the world is upon us. The ocean will turn black, and that's when you know the tsunami will hit. There will be chaos, and food will be wiped out, along with all living creatures. The only escape is to reach outer space before the world ends. As more people learn of this news, everyone rushes down to NASA to try and board a rocket before the world's end. Our agent is on a quest with his friends to board the next rocket out of the earth and find a new planet they can call home.
Story 2
A snowman is picking up coconuts near the beach in Miami, and after he picks them up, he tries to drink them, but the water inside is black. A secret agent comes to him and takes the coconuts from him. The secret agent says he will go to hell if he drinks the water. Suddenly, Tsunami hits the beach, and everything sinks, but the secret agent rescues the snowman.
Story 3
A snowman went to Miami for Halloween. But it found that the sea turned into the black water and the roads were full of waste. The tsunami was coming as if it was the end of the world. The tsunami took away all the coconuts in Miami, and the snowman, who fell into a coma, woke up to find that he seemed to have entered a dream core.
Building off one of these stories, the class will work on a collaborative narrative and render out a video.
Assets that we could use:
Strengths:
If we choose not to purchase some of these assets, I can assist in modeling buildings, creating levels, and using some of my other strengths for this project.
Modeling
Worldbuilding
Compositing
Level creation
Character:
I like the idea of creating a photorealistic character made in Metahumans for our leading actors.
What I am interested in learning:
Creating interactions and controlling actions within BluePrints. Work on lightning and more compositional things, plus camera setup.
